Kaine Ward was born in the UK and studied at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts prior to graduating from The Juilliard School in New York City with a BFA Degree in Dance and The Hector Zaraspe Prize for Choreography. He made his professional debut at the age of 12, portraying the title role of Billy Elliot, in Billy Elliot the Musical at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre and during his training, appeared in English National Ballet’s performances of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker as Young Fritz. He danced principal roles with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain for four seasons and in 2014 became a finalist on Sky 1’s, Got To Dance. Upon Graduation from Juilliard, he became a founding member of Tanz Kassel (Staatstheater Kassel) in Germany for two seasons before joining the Lyon Opera Ballet in France in the summer of 2023.
Throughout his career, Kaine has performed across Europe, North America and Asia and collaborated with many choreographers including
Bobbi-Jene Smith, Andonis Foniadakis, Bryan Arias, Christos Papodopolous, Roni Chadash, Rachid Ouramdane, Liliana Barros, Holly Blakey, Drew McOnie,
and
Andrea Miller, whilst continuing to perform renowned repertoire by
Ohad Naharin, Marcos Morau, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, Candela Capitan,
Marlene Monterio Freitas, Martha Graham.
